Welcome to ‘Blogs from the Shed’

Having had my site up and running for over a year, I decided to make some changes.

I wanted to post more pages on the site but it was becoming a bit cumbersome when it came to integrating new static pages.

So I decided I would add all new pages in the form of a blog, I have also converted some of the existing pages to the new blog format.

This also allows more flexibility when it comes to searching for articles and posts, these can now be grouped by category, date etc.

So what can you expect to find here?

Well, you will find posts including but not limited to railways, weather, local history, photography and travel.

Let me start by saying that I am not an expert on anything that I will write about here, in fact most of what I write will be pure hogwash but no bullshit.

The style is still the same – simple and un-cluttered, this is because I have built the site from scratch without the aid of a safety net!.

What about me?

I am an Ex Radio and Telecoms Engineer who is entering my 3rd Age, my interests include as you would expect from my content, photography, old railways, local history and wildlife.

I now live in County Durham, North East England, but I was born in the East Midlands. I have lived in many parts of the UK, but Durham is my adopted and final home.

There is no comments section to this blog, but if you feel the need to comment on any of my posts or contact me for any other reason you will find a link to a contact form at the bottom of every page.

There is no subscription or mailing list due in part to the EU GDPR regulations, and I don’t run any form of analytics or hit counters, there are no buttons to ‘like’ or ‘share’ and it doesn't matter to me if I get one reader or 1,000,000, I do this purely for enjoyment, it gives me a purpose in life.

This is my take on life.

Make of it what you will.
